A chandelier above a dining table will not only illuminate the dining area, but also draw attention. When choosing a chandelier for your dining room, it is also important to consider the shape of the table. A round crystal chandelier will work great above a round dining table, while a square or rectangular crystal chandelier is better for a rectangular table. For the 8 feet ceilings, the light fixture should be placed 30-35 inches above the dining table. For 9 or 10 feet ceilings, the lighting fixture should be placed 40 inches over the dining table.  If you hang the mirror in the dining area, it will reflect and double the light from the light fixture. The wall sconces can also add the light and create a cozy, inviting atmosphere in the dining area.
